Nexus Industries designs, manufacturers and distributes electrical and wiring accessories and has over 60 years history in the electrical markets. The Company operates two primary brands: Masterplug and British General.
In 2005, EPIC Private Equity backed a management buyout, investing £4.3 million.
Chinese production facilities were significantly improved and key domestic contracts were renegotiated, resulting in increased margins. The existing Nexus product range was expanded and new brands were introduced to target new markets.
As a result, margins and profitability have been steadily increasing since the MBO, with recent significant retail wins underpinning further growth for 2010. Nexus is currently the largest independent electrical accessories business in the UK.
