EPIC Private Equity LLP ("EPE") is a niche private equity investor in UK-based small and medium sized companies. EPE has been involved in private equity investing since 2001 when it raised a £70m growth and buyout fund (EPIC plc), and was an early mover into distressed investing with its £30m fund (ESO plc) in 2003. In total, the EPE team have completed total of 41 investments to-date and has developed a mature and successful investment approach.
At present, EPE manages a portfolio of 15 companies with combined turnover of £250m, and is actively seeking to make further investments across its two areas of specialisation:
EPE has significant experience in SME and distressed company investing, having invested approximately £88 million in approximately £270 million enterprise value in 42 transactions over the last eight years (17 of which were distressed private equity transactions via ESO plc). EPE advises up to £35 million in EPIC plc and currently manages £19.1 million of net assets in ESO plc. The current combined portfolio of EPIC plc and EPIC Special Opportunities plc has approximately £39 million of invested capital in businesses with an aggregate annual turnover of more than £240 million.
