Founded in 2001, EPIC Private Equity LLP ("EPIC Private Equity") is an independent investment manager and advisory boutique focused on UK-based small and medium sized companies. Over the last nine years, EPIC Private Equity has completed 42 transactions and raised £150 million of capital.

Since 2001, EPIC Private Equity has raised £150 million of capital for growth and buyout opportunities (EPIC plc, 2001, £70m), home, personal care and branded goods (EBI plc, 2002, £50m) and was an early mover into distressed investing through EPE Special Opportunities (ESO plc, 2003, £30m).

EPIC Private Equity has significant experience in small and medium sized companies as well as distressed investing. Since 2001, EPIC Private Equity has invested approximately £91 million in 42 transactions with a combined enterprise value of more than £270 million. 17 investments were turnaround or distressed transactions. The current portfolio consists of 11 companies in consumer, retail, support services, engineering and media sectors with an aggregate annual turnover of more than £200 million.

Through EPE Alternative Capital Solutions, EPIC Private Equity also seeks to work with management teams and/or owners of high growth companies looking for a strategic financial partner with whom to develop a business and maximise an opportunity. Leveraging the investment experience and skill of its team, EPE Alternative Capital Solutions looks to provide a complete service offering (from public and private fundraising to mergers and acquisitions advice), but more importantly to offer a different perspective and an alternative to the traditional private equity model or the broker sponsored IPO.

We seek to invest £2-10 million in distressed, growth or buyout opportunities. EPIC Private Equity will consider most industry sectors, including consumer, retail, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, support services and media industries. EPIC Private Equity partners with management and entrepreneurs to maximise value by combining financial and operational expertise in each investment. Whilst in general EPIC Private Equity aims to take controlling equity positions, we may also seek to develop companies as a minority investor.
